Spark Symposium: Audience Data Presentation

About

SPARK was a one-day symposium, organised by Warwick District Council, l which took place at the Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa. It aimed to turn creative talk into creative action and galvanise the creative business community around a common purpose, promotion, and growth of the sector. Delegates were introduced to just some of the exciting organisations, projects, and initiatives in the local area – and shared information about their work and plans for the future.

The day’s content was structured around five core themes; voice, placemaking, pathfinding, engagement, and innovation, and was presented via a series of presentations, workshops, discussions, networking opportunities, performances and exhibitions.

The brief

Earthen Lamp was invited to lead a session and deliver a session about Audience Data from the District. This session focused on:

  • What do we know about the people who live in Warwick District?
  • How do they spend their time?
  • What motivates them to engage in arts and culture, and what puts them off?

The activity

The session was aimed at organisations and individuals who are interested in using audience data to inform their marketing and programming decisions and support funding applications. No prior knowledge of audience data was required.

The session featured data from past projects and activities in Warwick District and included a 30-minute facilitated Q&A session with delegates to understand how organisations and individuals can best use audience data to inform their work and how they can collect data more effectively

The session was led by Vishalakshi Roy from Earthen Lamp and you can download the presentation here.

The outcome

As a follow on from this event Earthen Lamp has been invited to lead further sessions by Warwick District Council as part of its IGNITE programme of professional development and support ready for Warwick District’s creative community when we emerge from COVID-19 Lockdown.
